Maybe you will never be one of the harassed, but you will certainly, one day, become a part of another group of people: the witnesses. A stakeholder whose power is currently underestimated. To change this, equal.brussels and safe.brussels want to encourage every Brussels citizen to join the FAM, a caring and attentive 'family' of witnesses ready to react when needed.
The golden rule of this new community? When you are a witness, you should intervene. The type of intervention depends on the situation. Sometimes, a simple glance can make all the difference, showing that you are there and aware of what's going on. In certain contexts, more direct action may be necessary. To learn how to react, the FAM and all the people of Brussels who join it should refer to a set of rules: the 5D rule (Distract, Document, Direct, Delegate, and Dialogue).
